Captivating soundscapes.
This album reminds me of that Lyra Pramuk album that came out last year, where the vocals bend and swirl in odd yet fascinating ways, creating a sense of serene yet overwhelming listen.
While this is not technically acapella focused, the instrumentation brought in this album is immersive, creaking and dense strings and synths that accent the ritualistic mood quite perfectly, and again, the vocals stand out too, soft and striking, bending and terrifying that is paired with this kind of instrumental.
My issues quite lie in some of the synth tone, where I'm more fond if it acts as an accent towards the overall mood rather than being used upfront, which can come off as a sore thumb to some of the songs. And I quite wish that there are parts where the melodies stand out even more.
But with this kind of uniqueness on the table with lush instrumentation, powerful vocals, and great control of the tones and moods presented here, it's a spectacular listen.
