Flawed, yet hopeful.
For as good as the flow is, there are not many standalone tracks that keep themselves together. I much preferred the 2nd half rather than the 1st half in almost every way, from the production being more textured than the 1st (and much more crisp sounding), the melancholic tones had much more punch than the boastful tones of the first half, even if I do appreciate the sense of fragility under it. And Slowthai becomes such a better performer in the 2nd half as well, even if his smoky delivery still sounds good with the flows he shelves out.
But again, as much as there is some refinement in the flow and some tracks, I wished there's a bit more development in the sound to make this stand out more. And I do wish that some of the guests did more than just being on the bridge (Denzel Curry especially.)
Overall, it's respectable, but it's not the best showing of Slowthai just yet. Undercooked for the most part, and the good songs sadly don't save this from being just okay.
