Through nature's course.
Tasteful, balanced, and meditative is what I would describe Cassandra Jenkins' sophomore album which does fit the title. Jenkins' vocals are delicate yet close as the instrumentation lifts it up with warmth, grace, and atmosphere which is quite nice. Although, as much as it does execute the themes of healing through nature and through the lens of other people after David Bermans death in 2019, I kind of wished that there would be a bit more details surrounding more of the process of healing in the album. It was there, just wished that it opened up even more.
While the instrumentation is warm and supple with all the brass, wind, and drum instruments peppered throughout the album, the synths that were used here on some songs just do not match the natural and relaxing tone that its going for.
It's a pretty good record, even if it still lacks some detail and some instrumental choices that did not click for me as much as others do.
