In 'Kick iii', Arca pushes away the accessible tones of her past kick albums and pushes her deconstructed experimental extremes to the fullest.
One word that describes this album is: Volatile
Following Kick ii however is Arca embracing more sharp, jagged, and abrasive experimentation with Kick iii. And not to anyone’s surprise, this is possibly my other favorite apart from Kick i. Pushing away from the accessible and well-rounded tracks that come up on Kick i and Kick ii and ramps up the experimental extremes that may be reminiscent of her earlier works, but ends up more intense and earthshattering than ever before. Also offers some of Arca’s delirious performances and sexually aggressive lyrics yet, pure feral tones pushed at its most extreme, and Arca managed to pull it off extremely well, all despite certain tracks where the explosiveness could’ve turned it up a lot more.
It’s not the easiest Kick album to get into as you may want to introduce yourself to Arca’s tones in Kick i, but if you want to get into the chaos first and foremost, Kick iii may as well fit the description.
